The gals who went on the Mystery Trip
said this was by far one of the most fun activities
we've done yet. There were 11 who met at DonnaMae's
house at 8 a.m. and took off in two vehicles. No one
knew where we were going except the two drivers. The
first stop was in Cedarville, where we had our breakfast.
We drove north from there and stopped at the Lake
City Flour Mill (where we saw two beautiful big bucks).
Continued on up to Fort Bidwell and drove by many
turn-of-the-century buildings. Backtracked a little
ways to Fandango Pass where the Applegate brothers
led the first wagon train bound for Oregon in 1846.
We had our lunch at the Oregon State Park at Goose
Lake, in New Pine Creek, and then shopped at the local
antique/second hand store. From there we went to the
Stringer Wild Plum Winery, where the owners had a
wonderful spread of cheeses and wine for our enjoyment.
We ended our fun-filled day by eating at the Davis
Creek Barbeque. Needles to say, we were stuffed and
tired by the time we returned at 8 p.m.
