The
second annual high tea hosted by the Scarlet Plums of
Adin was another smashing success. It was held at the
Community Hall on April 22, with over 120 lovely ladies
in attendance. What a beautiful array of red and pink
hats, not to mention the purple and lavender
clothes.
Queen Mother DonnaMae Monchamp introduced the four
visiting queens: Jeri Martin of the Modoc Red Hot Hatters;
Leslie Mastalarz of the Scarlet Sirens; Donna Drew of
the Surprise Valley Starlet Scarlets; and Joan Hawthorne
of the Purple Mountain Sweethearts. The lunch was again
catered by Ms. Yonehara and the Big Valley Home Economics
Class, which was followed by a Red Hat Fashion Show,
narrated by Pink Hatter Sam Clark. Clothing ranged from
sleepwear to elegant dress.
Jay
Richno and Leah Sandberg entertained us again with several
musical numbers. Nancy Babcock did a tap dance and the
Grand Finale was the Red Hat Dancing Dolls.
The Scarlet Plums would like to thank all the lovely
ladies who made this event such a success.
