On July 11, 2004, seventeen Scarlet Plums put on their finest outfits and headed to Spinner Falls Lodge in Fall River Mills to enjoy dinner. The buffet included tri-tip, bar-b-que ribs and chicken and a large array of salads. The weather was perfect as they sat on the back deck and enjoyed the summer evening and each other's company.

This was one of the first events the Scarlet Plums attended. Other patrons made a point of asking why the ladies were all dressed up. "We're Red Hatters", explained the group. "What exactly does that mean", one man asked. "It's just an excuse to dress flamboyantly and have fun!", the ladies replied.
