Big Valley Days 2004
Preparing the float.
July 17, 2004

Every year in the Big Valley area, the towns of Adin, Bieber, Lookout and Nubieber get together to celebrate the upcoming summer season by hosting Big Valley Days. In July of 2004, Big Valley Days was hosted by the town of Adin, and the Scarlet Plums were there to show their colors and whoop it up. The Plums met the night before to decorate their float, a trailer with a makeshift throne where Queen Mother Donna Mae would sit and acknowledge the populace as she passed by.

Early the next morning the Plums gathered to await the big event. At 10:00 the Queen Mother was led to her lofty perch. Seated at a level below her majesty were several of her equally royal red hatted sisters and a few pink hatted neophytes.

Ready to Go!

Though their float didn't win first place, it certainly was the most colorful.
